Statutory Paternity Pay
Statutory Paternity Pay is a legal entitlement to a certain amount of pay to help a father care for a baby or support the mother during the first few weeks after the birth of a baby. The father can choose to take one or two whole weeks pay.
It is available to
- The biological father
- A partner, civil partner or husband who is not the baby’s biological father
- A mother’s female partner in a same sex couple
